Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs E.Shestakov to pay a visit to Saudi Arabia

On May 7-9, 2024 the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Evgeny Shestakov, is visiting the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to participate in the activities of the third meeting of the Belarusian-Saudi Joint Committee.

The Belarusian delegation includes the management of the Ministry of Transport and Communications, the National Centre for Marketing and Price Study, representatives of the Ministries of Agriculture and Food, Industry, the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, educational institutions, leading Belarusian exporting enterprises.

Within the framework of the visit, E.Shestakov delivered a welcoming speech to the participants of the Belarusian-Saudi business forum organised by the RUE "National Centre for Marketing and Price Study" and the Federation of Saudi Chambers of Commerce.

The Deputy Minister emphasised the significance of holding such a large-scale event for the first time since 2016 and the parties' focus on achieving concrete results to reactivate the full range of contacts.

Within the framework of the visit the bilateral meeting with the Chief Executive Officer of a diversified company Saudi Basic Industries Corp (SABIC), Abdulrahman Al-Fageeh, was held.

Prospects of cooperation in the spheres of mutual interest were discussed.

Specialised bilateral negotiations and consultations were also held with representatives of the Saudi authorities concerned on the draft final protocol of the third meeting of the Joint Committee.
