Belarus and Tajikistan

Diplomatic relations between the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Tajikistan were established on September 5, 1996. The Embassy of Tajikistan was opened in Minsk in 1997, the Embassy of Belarus in Dushanbe was opened in 2011.

Belarus and Tajikistan maintain an active political dialogue, constructively interact on international venues.

In October 2022, the President of the Republic of Belarus A.G.Lukashenko paid an official visit to the Republic of Tajikistan. In November 2023, the President of the Republic of Belarus A.G.Lukashenko and the President of the Republic of Tajikistan E.S.Rakhmon held a working meeting within the framework of the CSTO SCB session, in Minsk.

In 2000, the Intergovernmental Commission for the Development of Cooperation between the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Tajikistan was established and its 16th meeting was held on September 28, 2023 in Dushanbe.

The fifth meeting of the Belarusian-Tajik Business Council and the first meeting of the Working Group on Investment Cooperation between the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Tajikistan were also held in 2023.

In September 2023, the Center for Belarusian Language and Innovative Technologies was inaugurated at the Tajik National University. In October 2023, the Second Forum of Rectors of Higher Education Institutions of the two countries was held in Minsk.
