The First Belarusian Artificial Earth Satellite BelKA Delivered to Baikonur

The first Belarusian artificial earth satellite BelKA has been delivered to Baikonur, where BelKA’s launch is scheduled to take place on June 28, representatives of the Federal Space Agency of Russia informed. The satellite will be unloaded and put into the installation and test facility, where the apparatus flying capability will be tested. On June 11 the final test of the Belarusian satellite will take place.

The satellite is designed by the Russian rocket and space corporation Energia using universal space platform Viktoria on the order of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus. BelKA will perform geodesy, cartography and meteorology projects.
