On the Meeting of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus Mr.Vladimir Makei with the Ambassador of Cuba to Belarus Mr.Gerardo Suarez Alvarez

On October 2, 2013 Mr.Vladimir Makei, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, met with the newly arrived Ambassador of Cuba to Belarus Mr.Gerardo Suarez Alvarez.

During the discussion the parties marked with satisfaction the traditionally high level of mutual understanding between the two countries and nations, as well as the positive dynamics in mutual trade (in the recent 5 years trade turnover between Belarus and Cuba increased twice, exceeding 100 million USD).

Mr.Vladimir Makei and Mr.Gerardo Suarez Alvarez confirmed the intent of Minsk and Havana to give a fresh impetus to Belarus-Cuba dialogue. The parties will pay special attention to further strengthening interaction on the international arena, as well as the expansion of mutually beneficial cooperation in trade, economic, scientific, technical and other spheres.

During the meeting the Ambassador of Cuba handed the copies of credentials to the Head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus.
