Representatives of Belarus took part in Eastern Partnership Seminar on Agriculture and Rural Development

On 19 November 2012 in Brussels the European Commission in cooperation with the UN Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) held a seminar on “Assessment of the Agriculture and Rural Development Sectors in the Eastern Partnership Countries”. The event was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Belarus and Mission of Belarus to the EU.
During the seminar the parties discussed the prospects of regional co-operation between the Eastern Partnership countries and the European Union in rural and agricultural standards development. A preliminary agreement was reached to launch in the framework of Platform 2 of the Eastern Partnership, “Economic integration and convergence with EU policies” a Panel on Agriculture and Rural Development in early 2013.
