On April 3, 2014 Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus Mr.Vladimir Makei within the working visit to Russia took part in the session of the CSTO Council of Foreign Ministers.
The CSTO Secretary General Mr.Nikolai Borduzha presented report on the situation in the area of responsibility of the CSTO taking into account all the factors that influence its development.
The Heads of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs discussed the improvement of the mechanism of foreign policy coordination of the CSTO members to guarantee international security and stability. The sides considered the prospects of the Organization’s activity on cooperation in the information sphere, as well the partnership of CSTO with the civic institutions and the youth.
Following the results of the meeting the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the CSTO countries-members made a statement in connection with the forthcoming presidential elections in Afghanistan and the aggravation of tension in the North-West of Syria.
The parties signed the Program of consultations of the CSTO members on foreign policy issues and security for the second half of 2014 – first half of 2015.
