On the Consultations between Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Belarus and Turkmenistan

On January 23, 2013 the consultations between Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Belarus and Turkmenistan at the level of Deputy Foreign Ministers took place in Minsk. The Belarus delegation was headed by Mr. Alexander Mikhnevich, First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Turkmenistan – by Mr.Vepa Hadziev, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs.

During the consultations the parties discussed the prospects of political relations, scientific, technical and humanitarian cooperation, the development of legal base and interaction in international organizations.

The sides considered the issues of cooperation in the framework of Belarus-Turkmenistan Intergovernmental Committee on economic cooperation, as well as the functioning of Belarus-Turkmenistan trading houses in Minsk and Ashkhabad.
The parties agreed to hold a session of the Belarus –Turkmenistan Intergovernmental Committee on scientific and technological cooperation and the first session of the Business Council on cooperation, created by Belarus and Turkmenistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry.
