Belarus delegation takes part in 190th Session of the Executive Board of UNESCO

On October 3-18, 2012 Paris hosts the 190th Session of the Executive Board of UNESCO. The Belarusian delegation headed by Chairman of Belarus’ National Commission for UNESCO, Ambassador-at-large of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus Vladimir Schastny takes part in the meeting.
The participants of the Session will consider the reports of the Director General on the Resolutions of the Executive Board and the General Conference of UNESCO adopted at previous sessions.
The participants will accord special priority on the proposals of the Director General concerning the draft medium term strategy, as well as programmes and budget of UNESCO.
The event will also consider the UNESCO financial situation, the effectiveness of management of extra-budgetary funds and the results of the independent audit.
On October 1-9 a photo show “Polatsk Starazhytny – Polatsk suchasny” (Ancient Polatsk – Modern Polatsk) is on display at the UNESCO headquarters in Paris.
The opening ceremony was held on October 3, 2012. The UNESCO Director-General Irina Bokova and Mayor of Polatsk Alexander Poznyak took part in the event.
Photo show will open up new facets of the Belarusian nation to its visitors.
