On the Participation of Belarus’ Delegation in the UN Debate on Agricultural Development and Food Security

On October 28, 2013 within the framework of the UN General Assembly’s Second Committee (economic and financial issues) the delegation of Belarus took part in the debate on agricultural development and food security.

The representative of Belarus Mr.Vadim Pisarevich noted the need for an integrated approach to the creation of conditions for sustainable agricultural production in view of its close interconnection with climate, water, energy, demographics, science and trade policies factors.

Given the importance of agricultural development and food security for the world community, in the opinion of Belarus, this issue should be reflected in the post-2015 development agenda.
