On the Meeting with the Secretary General of the Council of Europe

On February 19, 2013 the representatives of the Belarus Mission to the Council of Europe met with Mr.Thorbjorn Jagland, Secretary General of the Council of Europe.

During the meeting the parties discussed the development of Belarus-CoE dialogue.

Belarus diplomats passed to the Secretary General of the CoE the official notification of Belarus’ accession to the Convention on the Conservation of European Wildlife (Bern Convention).

February 19 is considered to be the date of Belarus accession to the above mentioned Convention. The Convention will come into force for Belarus on June, 1, 2013.
