Ambassador E.Sobolevski holds meetings in Oman

On February 9-11, 2026 the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to Egypt and the Sultanate of Oman (concurrently), Evgueni Sobolevski, paid a working visit to Oman.

During talks with the President of the Oman Investment Authority, Abdelsalam Al-Murshidi, the sides highlighted the positive dynamics between government agencies and business circles. They emphasized the intensive implementation of trade and investment projects following high-level agreements and discussed the upcoming schedule, including the inaugural meeting of the Joint Committee on Cooperation and Investment.

In a meeting with Oman’s Minister of Health, Hilal Al Sebti, the parties reviewed the progress of agreements from the Minister's June 2025 visit to Belarus. They noted growing ties between specialized medical institutions and expressed mutual interest in exchanging expertise in oncology and transplantation, with a specific focus on pharmaceutical production and supply.

During negotiations with the Chairman of the Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones, Qais Al Yousef, the sides discussed the framework for establishing a Belarusian re-export hub in Oman. Further coordination on this project will continue with relevant Belarusian stakeholders.

Following talks with the Deputy Minister of Commmerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion of the Sultanate of Oman, Ghalib Al Maamari, the parties noted fruitful cooperation in industrial projects and outlined prospects in woodworking and furniture manufacturing. They also expressed readiness to continue inter-ministerial collaboration on anti-monopoly regulation.

Finally, the Ambassador and the Chairman of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Faisal Al Rawas, discussed organizing joint business events. The sides agreed to facilitate partnerships between Belarusian and Omani commercial organizations in industry, food security, and information technology.
