On the Participation of the Belarus Delegation in the OSCE Council of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs

 On December 6-7, 2012 the annual meeting of the OSCE Council of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs took place in Dublin(Ireland).

The Belarus delegation was headed by Mr.Alexander Mikhnevich, First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs.

At the plenary meeting Mr.Alexander Mikhnevich presented the position of Belarus on the current OSCE activities, specified the key issues of the programme of work which need more attention.

Mr.Alexander Mikhnevich marked that it’s necessary to go back to the OSCE original mission which is to build up the community of security and cooperation in order to overcome credibility crises and confrontation.

The Head of the Belarus delegation noted that it’s important to continue reforming the OSCE and drew attention to the double standards used by the OSCE during elections observation missions.

During the session of the Council Mr.Alexander Mikhnevich took part in the working meeting of the CSTO (Collective Security Treaty Organization) and the meetings with the Heads of other delegations.
