On November 8, 2012 Mr.Aleksandr Gerasimenko, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to Latvia, met with Mr.Aivis Ronis, Minister of Transport of Latvia. During the meeting the parties discussed cooperation in transport and logistics, and the development of transit of Belarusian goods through Latvian ports.
The parties consider further development of the Belarusian-Latvian borderline and railway infrastructure to be beneficial for both sides.
The Latvian side confirmed its interest in investment projects that are aimed at the development of Belarusian-Latvian railways capacity. The Latvian side is willing to create favorable conditions and render assistance to the Belarusian partners in acquiring or renting port facilities of Latvia.
