On August 30-31, 2012 Tehran (Iran) hosts the main part of the 16th Summit of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) member states.
Belarusian delegation led by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus Vladimir Makei participates in the summit.
The main goal of the event will be to discuss the most pressing international issues and adoption of the final document.
As expected, the final document will include a number of Belarusian proposals, based on the priority areas of the Belarusian delegation in the UN (on recognition of the diversity of ways of progressive development; on creation of global partnerships; on strengthening NAM cooperation with the world centers of power; on combating trafficking in persons; on youth initiative; on the middle-income countries, on creating global technology transfer mechanism for new and renewable energy sources).
Within the framework of the meeting V.Makei will address the plenary session of the summit, and will have meetings with the heads of the delegations to discuss the issues of bilateral cooperation that represent interest to Belarus.
