On the Meeting of Mr.Sergei Aleinik, Ambassador of Belarus, in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Great Britain

On March 5, 2013 Mr.Sergei Aleinik, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Great Britain, met with Mr.Colin Roberts, Director of the Eastern Europe and Central Asia Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affair of Great Britain.

During the meeting the parties discussed the prospects of interaction in political, trade, economic, humanitarian and cultural spheres between Belarus and Great Britain. The sides confirmed their readiness to hold an open dialogue to work out an effective way of developing equal and mutually beneficial bilateral cooperation, as well as Belarus-EU interaction.

The participants of the meeting also considered the issues of legal basis development, further interaction in the framework of the Eastern Partnership Initiative, the realization of humanitarian programs to overcome the consequences of the Chernobyl disaster. The parties discussed the development of contacts in educational, scientific and cultural spheres, as well as the prospects of regional cooperation.
