On February 9, 2026 the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Republic of India, Mikhail Kasko, took part in the 1st BRICS Sherpa/Sous-Sherpa meeting in Delhi as a representative of Belarus as a BRICS partner country.

In his speech, the Belarusian diplomat thanked the organisers for the invitation, noting that partner countries had not previously participated in such meetings.
M.Kasko conveyed a message from the President of the Republic of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, in which the latter expressed his confidence that India's year of chairmanship would bring new achievements and strengthen the position of BRICS as an influential international structure.
Belarus is ready to share its technological potential and achievements in the field of food and water security for the harmonious development of the BRICS countries.

The Belarusian side also confirmed its interest in joining the New Development Bank of BRICS, which will contribute to the realisation of the economic potential of all member countries and partners of the association.
