On the Meeting of Mr.Vladimir Makei, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, with the OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media

On June 5, 2013 Mr.Vladimir Makei, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, held a meeting with Ms.Dunja Mijatović, OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media, who is on a visit to Belarus on the occasion of holding the OSCE training seminar for Belarusian journalists.

During the meeting the parties discussed current interaction between the Republic of Belarus and the Office of the OSCE Representative, identified areas for further cooperation.

The Belarusian side raised the issue of the application by certain OSCE participating States of discriminatory measures against a number of Belarusian journalists.Mr.Vladimir Makei called for involvement of the Representative on Freedom of the Media in the resolution of this problem.
