On May 28, 2013 the 16th session of Belarus-Lithuania Committee on Trade and Economic Cooperation took place in Vilnius within the 2nd Belarus-Lithuania Forum on Regional Cooperation.
The Belarusian delegation was headed by Mr.Alexander Guryanov, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Lithuanian – by Mr.Kęstutis Trečiokas, Vice-Minister of economy.
During the session the parties discussed the current issues of Belarus-Lithuania relations, including cooperation in trade, transport and transit. The sides considered the issues of water objects at the river Neman basin protection and the development of tourism of the two countries.
Within the framework of the session, Belarus’ delegation presented the position of the country in what concerns Belarus accession to the WTO, participation in integration processes within the Customs Union and Common Free Market Zone.
The sides also discussed cooperation within Eastern Partnership Initiative.
The participants of the meeting agreed to keep in contact within Belarus-Lithuania Intergovernmental Committee on Trade and Economic Cooperation.
