Republic of Belarus Establishes Diplomatic Relations with Solomon Islands

On September 10, 2012 in New York the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Belarus to the UN Andrei Dapkiunas and Permanent Representative of the Solomon Islands to the UN Colin Beck have signed bilateral communiqué on establishment of diplomatic relations between the two states.

The Sides confirmed their desire to develop and strengthen relations and cooperation between the two countries on the basis of equality, mutual respect to the sovereignty, guided by the goals and principles of the United Nations Charter and the principles of international law.

During the conversation of the heads of the diplomatic missions of Belarus and the Solomon Islands the Sides noted the need to expand cooperation between the two states and strengthen their contacts of the international arena, including development of contacts and common projects within the UN agencies.
