Seminar on the Implementation of the UN Security Council Resolution

On January 15-17, 2013 a seminar on the implementation of the UN Security Council resolution 1540 on non-proliferation of weapons and mass destruction and their means of delivery will take place in Minsk.
 
The seminar is organized under the auspices of the CIS Executive Committee, UN Office for disarmament affairs, OSCE Conflict Prevention Center and in association with the Republic of Belarus.
 
The representatives of relevant ministries and agencies, border and customs authorities of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Ukraine will take part in the event.
 
The experts from EU member-states, UN Security Council Committee 1540, UN Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute, European Commission, World Health Organization, as well as some other research and development centers specializing in non-proliferation and export control will take part in the event.
 
During the seminar CIS member-states and international organizations will exchange experience and information on the 1540 resolution implementation nationally and regionally.
