Amendments to Visa Regulations Adopted in Belarus

The Decree of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus of May 31, 2012 No 508 has made amendments and additions to the Visa Regulations of the Republic of Belarus, approved by the Decree of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus of July 15, 2010 No 1065.

The new edition of Visa Regulations further simplifies the procedure of obtaining Belarusian visas, exempts foreign citizens and stateless persons who have a valid residence permit in Belarus from the need to get exit-entry visas. The range of persons entitled to attend burial sites is expanded, the grounds for obtaining a visa for medical treatment in Belarus are identified. Certain petition forms for getting visas of the Republic of Belarus and visa application forms are unified.

Starting from September 1, 2012 the possibility of getting all types of entry visas in the Minsk National Airport is left only for the citizens of foreign countries with no diplomatic representations or consular offices of Belarus.

Citizens of the countries with diplomatic representations or consular offices of Belarus have the right to get visas at Minsk National Airport only when travelling to Belarus as part of official delegations, invited by the state authorities of Belarus, as well as in case of serious disease or death of a close relative or a family member.
