Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania visits Belarus

On February 3-5, 2020 the first since 2015 working visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania, Linas Linkevicius, to the Republic of Belarus takes place.

During the visit, negotiations between the heads of the foreign offices of the two countries Vladimir Makei and Linas Linkevicius were held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus. A wide range of issues of the bilateral and international agenda were addressed, including the most sensitive topics. The parties also discussed prospects for developing cooperation between the two countries in specific areas of mutual interest.

Within the framework of the visit, the Prime Minister of Belarus, Sergei Roumas, met with L.Linkevicius. A special attention was paid to the current state of cooperation in the trade, economic, transport and transit spheres, as well as to preparations for the XV Belarus-Lithuania Economic Forum in Klaipeda.

V.Makei and the Foreign Minister of Lithuania jointly visited the Lithuanian Culture Centre and the Trinity Church in Hierviaty, Astravets District, the Secondary School in Rymdziuny, and met with representatives of the Lithuanian diaspora.
