Belarusian Delegation Takes Part in the Reinforced Meeting of the OSCE Permanent Council

The delegation of the Republic of Belarus took part in the Reinforced meeting of the OSCE Permanent Council, which was held on November 16, 2012 in Vienna and devoted to the preparations for the annual meeting of foreign ministers of the OSCE participating States in Dublin (6-7 December 2012).
 
The representative of Belarus, Head of European Cooperation Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Mr. Roman Romanovsky outlined in his speech approaches and priorities of the Republic of Belarus in regard to the draft documents of the upcoming OSCE ministerial meeting.
 
In particular, he underlined the importance of further joint work of the participating States to build a genuine “security community” in the OSCE area within the initiated by the Irish Chairmanship-in-Office “Helsinki + 40” process, as well as of the reform of the Organization.
 
Attention of the meeting’s participants was also drawn to the joint initiatives of Belarus and some CSTO partners to adopt in Dublin Ministerial Council documents on combating aggressive nationalism, violent extremism, neo-fascism and neo-Nazism, as well as on improvement of the OSCE election monitoring and on freedom of movement.
