On the Session of the MFA Collegium

On February 17, 2014 the Collegium of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus considered the results of the diplomatic activity in 2013.

The participants of the Collegium included Prime-Minister of the Republic of Belarus Mr.Mikhail Myasnikovich, the leadership of state administrative bodies, representatives of the Presidential Administration, Council of Ministers, as well as senior executives of the leading Belarusian exporting enterprises and structures that promote external economic activity.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus Mr.Vladimir Makei presented the report in which he made critical assessment of the results reached by the Ministry and diplomatic missions, analyzed the key problematic issues with the special focus on foreign economy and outlined the ways of solving them in order to carry out objects that MFA will face in 2014.

The Ambassadors of Belarus to Italy, Serbia, India and Ukraine voiced proposals taking into account the specifics of the markets and situation in different regions.

In 2014 MFA diplomatic missions will focus on export potential of our country, as well as direct foreign investments attraction for its further development and the modernization of the national economy.The Ministry will continue work
on the creation of favourable framework for the promotion of Belarusian products to foreign markets and protection of domestic manufacturers by means of using the instruments of Customs Union and Common Economic Space. The key tasks include the provision of favourable conditions that meet the national interests of the Eurasian Economic Union future.


In order to promote domestic products to foreign markets MFA will continue practicing two-stage targeted work with sectoral ministries and concerns, as well as Belarusian exporting companies. The Ministry will continue to develop optimal patterns of GDP generating products deliveries to the consumers abroad, the development of service exports.
 
It’s planned to cover new markets by means of the created system of stimulation and financial support of exports that is aimed at complementing the traditional instruments of exports organization.

In the closing speech the Prime-Minister of Belarus Mr.Mikhail Myasnikovich drew attention to the primary objective of the MFA and diplomatic missions to promote exports, credit and investments cooperation, interaction with the key foreign trade partners of our country.

The Head of the Government dwelt upon the activity in the framework of integration units and outlined other issues of high priority.
