International Seminar Organized in Nesvizh

On May 24-26 the National Reserve-Museum of History and Culture “Nesvizh” hosts the international seminar “World Heritage Items: Preservation and Use for the Sustainable Development Goals”.

The event is organized by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Belarus, National Reserve-Museum of History and Culture, and National UNESCO Commission of the Republic of Belarus with the financial assistance of the UNESCO World Heritage Center.

The Chairman of the National UNESCO Commission of the Republic of Belarus, Ambassador at large Vladimir Schastny addressed the participants of the meeting with an opening speech.

International experts from the Great Britain, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Ukraine and other countries will take part in the seminar. Belarusian participants will be offered with a unique opportunity to learn about the UNESCO best practices in using the World Heritage items, i.a. for the development of the tourist potential. The participants of the seminar will discuss the ways of practical use of the items in the interests of social and economic development with respect to international requirements in ensuring safety of historical and cultural monuments.

The seminar is included in the UNESCO list of events dedicated to the 1972 Convention concerning the Protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage. These events are organized in 2012 around the world.
