On June 5, 2013 the Belarusian delegation took part in the discussion within the 23rd session of the UN Human Rights Council on the situation with the human rights that claim the attention of the Council.

In his speech Mr.Evgeny Lazarev drew attention to the most resonant cases of human rights violation in the countries of the European Union.

Special attention was focused on the adoption of the law on same-sex marriage that split the French society and led to flouting the rights of the French who want to create healthy families. Today those people who are for the creation of families that can give birth to children are beaten by the police and arrested.

The issue of the neofascism ideas revival in Germany and Estonia was also brought up.

The Belarusian delegation drew attention to the draft law in Great Britain that creates so-called “secret courts” that suppose to review secret cases, connected with the torture and enforced disappearance, in which government authorities could act as the violator.

Belarus called the Council and the Special Rapporteur to pay more attention to major violations of human rights in the countries of the European Union.
