Deputy Minister Sergei Aleinik visits Oman

The fourth round of the ministerial consultations between Belarus and Oman was held on April 16, 2012 in Muscat. The Belarusian delegation was led by Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Aleinik; the Omani delegation was led by Under-Secretary of the Foreign Ministry for Diplomatic Affairs Ahmed bin Yusuf al Harthy.

Sergei Aleinik met also with Secretary General of the Omani Ministry of Foreign Affairs Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamoud Albusaidi, Director Executive of Oman’s State General Reserve Fund Warith Al-Kharusi, Secretary General of the State Council Khalid Bin Salim Al Saidi, Deputy Minister of Heritage and Culture of Oman Salim bin Mohammed al-Mahrouqi.

The sides discussed the issues of current importance regarding the implementation of investment projects, inter-parliamentary cooperation, cultural contacts, collaboration in international organizations, development of the legal framework, etc. The situation in the Middle East and the North Africa was also touched upon the discussion.

The ministerial consultations resulted in signing the intergovernmental agreement on visa-free trips for holders of diplomatic, service and special passports.
