Belarus Took Part in Open Meeting of the UN Security Council

On April 25, 2012 the delegation of the Republic of Belarus took part in the open meeting of the UN Security Council dedicated to “Protecting Borders against Illicit Cross-Border Trafficking”.

Head of the Department of Information — Press Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Andrei Savinykh addressed the participants of the UN Security Council open meeting on behalf of the Republic of Belarus.

In his address A.Savinykh stated that Belarus is a reliable barrier for illegal migration, movement of terrorists, trafficking in weapons, drugs and its precursors.

Belarusian diplomat has informed the participants of the meeting about the measures being adopted to ensure border security over entire perimeter of the Belarusian border.

A.Savinykh has underlined that the Republic of Belarus is set to further serve as an effective guarantor of the border security in the interest of the entire region.

In this regard the representative of Belarus called upon our partners for practical interaction, cooperation and mutual assistance in strengthening the borders.
