Session of Advisory Committee of the Heads of Legal Services of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the CIS Member States to take place in Kiev

On February 15-16, 2012 Kiev will host the 12th Session of the Advisory Committee of the Heads of Legal Services of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Member States of the Commonwealth of the Independent States. Belarusian delegation headed by Andrei Popkov, Head of General Directorate on Treaties and Legal Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, will take part in the event.

The agenda of the meeting includes some current issues related to the interaction of the legal services of Foreign Ministries of the CIS, including the improvement of the system of adoption of the documents by the governing bodies of the Commonwealth, and also the possibility to further expand legal cooperation in different spheres within the CIS.

Note: the Advisory Committee of the Heads of Legal Services of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Member States of the Commonwealth of the Independent States was created in accordance with the Resolution of the CIS Council of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs, adopted on September 15, 2004. The members of the Advisory Committee are the heads of the legal services of the Foreign Ministries of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, and the Ukraine. In 2012 the Ukraine is taking the presidency of the Advisory Committee.
