Belarusian Delegation Takes Part in Ministerial Meeting of Non-Aligned Movement Coordination Bureau

On May 9-10, 2012 Sharm el-Sheikh (Egypt) hosts the Ministerial Meeting of the Coordination Bureau of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM CB).

Belarusian delegation on this event is headed by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Sergei Aleinik.

The main focus of the meeting will be on discussion of the implementation issues of the Plan of Action, adopted during the XV Summit of the Non-Aligned Movement (Sharm el-Sheikh, 2009) and on preparation to the XVI Summit of the Non-Aligned Movement that will take place this year in Tehran. The participants of the session plan to review the most important international issues and to adopt a final document of the NAM CB Ministerial Meeting.

It is expected that the final document will include a number of Belarusian proposals, based on the priority tasks of the Belarusian delegation at the UN: on recognition of the diversity of ways of progressive development; on creation of global partnerships; on strengthening NAM cooperation with the world centers of power; on combating trafficking in persons; on youth initiative; on the middle-income countries, on creating global technology transfer mechanism for new and renewable energy sources.

Within the framework of the meeting S.Aleinik will have meetings with the heads of the delegations to discuss the issues of bilateral cooperation that are of interest for Belarus.
