6th meeting of Belarus-Serbia Intergovernmental Commission to Take Place in Belgrade

On January, 18, 2012 Belgrade will host the 6th meeting of Belarus-Serbia Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation.

The Belarusian part of the Commission will be led by Minister of Trade Valentin Chekanov. Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of Serbia Verica Kalanović will head the Serbian side.

Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Vasili Pavlovsky, Deputy Minister of Economy Anton Kudasov, Deputy Minister of Sport and Tourism Cheslav Shulga, the Chairman of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Mihail Myatlikov, the representatives of the Ministry of Industry and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and of several Belarusian enterprises will take part in the work of the Commission from the Belarusian side.

In the framework of the meeting the sides will discuss the dynamics and prospects of bilateral relations in the spheres of manufacturing, agriculture, trade, transport, economy, energy, tourism, inter-regional cooperation.

The participants of the session will also consider the issues concerning expansion of the legal basis of the bilateral relations and cooperation of the Belarusian and Serbian Chambers of Commerce and Industry.

Note: according to the results of the 11 months of 2011, Serbia occupies the 34th position in the list of Belarusian export markets, the 44th position in the volume of import to Belarus.

 

In January — November 2011 the Belarusian export to Serbia accounted for US$ 78.8 million (the growth rate made up 131.5 percent compared to the same period of 2010), the import from Serbia to Belarus constituted US$ 52.8 million (134.3 percent). The positive balance in Belarus is US$ 26 million.
