On the Consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Belarus and Finland

On March 15, 2013 the Consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Belarus and Finland at the level of the heads of political departments took place in Minsk.

Belarus delegation was headed by Mr.Sergei Malinovsky, Head of the Division for Europe, Finland delegation – by Ms.Terhi Hakala – Director for the Department for Russia, Eastern Europe and Central Asia of the Foreign Ministry of Finland. Mr.Vladimir Drazin, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Lithuania and Finland, and Mr.Harri Mäki-Reinikka, Ambassador of Finland to Lithuania and Belarus, took part in the consultations.
 
Ms.Terhi Hakala, Head of the Finland delegation and Mr.Harri Mäki-Reinikka, met with Ms.Alena Kupchyna, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus.
 
During the negotiations the parties discussed the state and prospects of the development of bilateral cooperation in different spheres, particularly in trade and investments. The sides agreed to develop humanitarian and cultural exchanges.
  
The parties discussed interaction in the framework of international and subregional organizations, including the Baltic Sea Region, exchanged views on Belarus-EU relations development and considered other issues of mutual interest.
