On the Participation of Belarusian Delegation in the 20th OSCE Ministerial Council Meeting in Kyiv

On December 5 — 6, 2013 the Belarusian delegation, headed by Foreign Minister Mr.Vladimir Makei, is taking part in the 20th Meeting of the Foreign Ministers Council of the OSCE member states in Kyiv.


The OSCE sitting is a major annual OSCE event of the ministerial level, which is held to review the situation in the region the Organization is in charge of, evaluate its activities and define objectives for the near-term perspective.


During the Ministerial Council Meeting in Kyiv, the parties will discuss a wide range of issues, encompassing all spheres of cooperation within the OSCE. The consideration of the preliminary results of the “Helsinki+40” process, aimed at building a security community across the OSCE space, and the approval of a corresponding ministerial declaration, will be the core subject of the discussion. A number of other important documents are also to be adopted, including decisions on counter-trafficking in persons, transnational challenges and threats, protection of non-nuclear energy infrastructure from human-made and natural disasters.
