Deputy Minister Sergei Aleinik Visited Bangladesh

On April 29-30 Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, Sergei Aleinik, paid a working visit to the People's Republic of Bangladesh.

Ministerial consultations were held during the visit with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh Mohammed Mijarul Quayes. The sides have discussed the issues of strengthening high-level political dialog between Belarus and Bangladesh, expansion of trade and economic, science and technical cooperation, development of the bilateral legal base, and interaction within international organizations. The sides have signed the protocol of consultations.

Belarusian diplomat was also received by the Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina.

S.Aleinik met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Minister of Industry, Minister of Agriculture, Minister of Trade, Minister of Communications and Railway, the heads of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry, and Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry, business circles of Bangladesh.

Primary focus during the meetings was made on increasing the shipments of Belarusian products to Bangladesh, elaboration of several intergovernmental and interagency agreements, contacts between the scientific and educational institutions of the states, and other issues of mutual interest.
