Consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Belarus and Russia take place in Minsk

On October, 20 within the implementation of the program of coordinated actions of the Foreign Ministries of Belarus and Russia Minsk hosts the bilateral consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Belarus and Russia on the OSCE-related issues and on the issues of cooperation with other European organizations and structures.

The Russian delegation is headed by the Deputy Head of the Department of European Cooperation of the Russian Foreign Ministry Nikolai Kobrinets, the Belarusian delegation is headed by the Deputy Head of the Main Department for Europe – Head of the European Cooperation Department of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry Roman Romanovskiy. 

The delegations will exchange their views on a wide range of issues on cooperation between Belarus and Russia within the OSCE.

In particular, they will review the process of reforming the OSCE and promotion of joint initiatives aimed at completing the work on establishing the international legal status of the organization and at improving the accountability and balance in the work of the OSCE executive structures. 

A special attention will be paid to reviewing the process of preparing for the upcoming meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the OSCE member-states (Vilnius, 6-7, December 2011) and aligning positions on the agenda, working out draft documents and decisions of the Council.

The parties will also discuss different aspects of interaction with other European organizations and structures, including the European Union.
