On the Meeting of Mr. Vladimir Gerasimovich, Head of the International Security and Arms Control Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with Mr. Jaak Lensment, Ambassador of Estonia to Belarus.

On January 9, 2013 in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Mr. Vladimir Gerasimovich, Head of the International Security and Arms Control Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus met with Mr. Jaak Lensment, Ambassador of Estonia to Belarus, who performs the functions of the Head of NATO contact embassy in our country since 2013.
 
During the meeting, the parties exchanged their views on the state and prospects of Belarus – NATO cooperation.
Mr.V. Gerasimovich informed Mr.J. Lensment about the priorities of pragmatic cooperation between Belarus and NATO, including NATO transit of freight through its territory, destined for the International Security Assistance Forces in the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, combating transboundary emerging security challenges and threats, prevention and elimination of natural and man-made emergency situations, combating terrorism, drug trafficking and trafficking in persons, counteraction of transnational organized crime.
 
The parties agreed to cooperate on a permanent basis in various aspects of Estonia activities as NATO contact embassy in the Republic of Belarus.
