On the Visit of Ms.Alena Kupchyna, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, to Hungary

On May 6 – 7, 2013 Ms.Alena Kupchyna, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, was on a working visit to Budapest.

On May 6 Ms.Alena Kupchyna held negotiations with Mr.Zsolt Nemeth, Parliamentary State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. On the same day the consultations between Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Belarus and Hungary took place. The Hungarian delegation was headed by Mr.Peter Starai, State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

On May 7 Ms.Alena Kupchyna met with Mr.Peter Szijjarto, State Secretary for Foreign Affairs and External Economic Relations of the Prime-Minister’s Office, held negotiations in the Parliament and Hungarian governmental institutions.

During the meetings the parties discussed the development of bilateral relations emphasizing the importance of economic and cultural cooperation, interaction in international organizations, particularly in the context of Hungary’s Chairmanship in the Central European Initiative and Visegrad Group.

The sides marked the rise in bilateral flows of tourists and agreed to
take joint efforts to enable a direct air service between Minsk, Budapest, and Belgrade.

The parties also agreed to work on the issues of holding
Hungarian Days of culture in Belarus, as well as teaching Belarusian and Hungarian languages on the basis of higher educational establishments of both countries.
