On the Participation of Belarus’ Delegation in the IAEA Conference

On July 1, 2013 the International Conference on physical nuclear security “Activation of global efforts” started its work in the headquarters of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in Vienna.
The Belarusian delegation headed by Mr.Vasily Stepanenko, First Deputy Minister of Emergencies, took part in the Conference.
The event is aimed at providing the outlook of the current trends in ensuring physical nuclear security and the identification of tendencies and priorities for the future. Approaches specified within the Conference by the IAEA Member States will become the basis for the IAEA Plan of actions for 2014-2017.
Belarus places high emphasis on taking practical measures to ensure a high level of physical nuclear security.
The accurate nuclear materials and radioactive sources reporting and control system is created in the country, the mechanism of cargo transfer across the border control is functioning effectively.
