On Belarus-Russia Consultations between Ministries of Foreign Affairs

On July 4, 2013 the consultations between Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Belarus and Russia on counteracting new challenges and threats took place in Minsk. The Belarusian delegation was headed by Mr.Alexander Ponomarev, Deputy Head of the Department for International Security and Arms Control of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, the Russian delegation was headed by Mr.Vladimir Salov, Deputy Director of the Department for New Challenges and Threats of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
The parties exchanged their assessments of the terrorist threat on the CIS territory in the context of current tendencies on the international arena. The participants of the meeting discussed Belarus-Russia bilateral and international cooperation in the fight against terrorism, drug trafficking, organized crime and in the sphere of international informational security.
Discussion on collaboration in counteracting new challenges and threats will be continued until July 5, 2013 at the CIS ministerial consultations.
