In connection with the information spread by some mass media that high-level Ukrainian officials and politicians have fled to the territory of Belarus and the threats against the Embassy of Belarus in Ukraine in this respect, we state that this information has nothing to do with reality. There are no such officials on the territory of Belarus.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs considers such insinuations as deliberate provocation.

We are also concerned by the repeated cases when vehicles with the Belarusian license numbers come under fire on the territory of Ukraine.

In this regard we underline that Belarus is historically linked with Ukraine by long-lasting and close ties of friendship and mutual understanding.

The efforts of certain forces to drive a wedge into Belarus-Ukraine friendly relations deserve strong denunciation and are renounced by the peoples of our countries.
