On the participation of the Belarus delegation in the FAO Council session

On December 3-7, 2012 Belarus will take part in the 145th session of the UN Food and Agriculture Organization Council in Rome.

The Belarus delegation will include Ms. Lyudmila Nizhevich, Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Mr. Evgeny Shestakov, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Belarus to FAO and Mr.Yuri Ambrazevich, the Head of the Department for Multilateral Diplomacy of the MFA.

During the session the participants are going to discuss the development of technical cooperation program and FAO reforms in 2012-2013, specify the strategic framework program, the concept of the medium-term plan for 2014-2017 and work programme of the FAO Council for 2013-2016.

Members of the Belarusian delegation will take part in plenary meetings. The delegation and FAO senior officials will discuss future FAO project activity in Belarus.

The Belarusian delegation is also planning to meet with the key officials of the International Fund for Agricultural Development to specify the areas of possible cooperation.
