On the Participation of the Delegation of the Republic of Belarus in the 20th OSCE Ministerial Council Meeting in Kyiv

On December 5 – 6, 2013 the 20th OSCE Ministerial Council meeting will take place in Kyiv, Ukraine. The Belarusian delegation will be headed by Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus Mr.Vladimir Makei.

The meeting is the major annual OSCE event held at the ministerial level to review the situation in the Organization’s area, assess its activities and identify tasks for the near future.

A wide range of issues covering all areas of co-operation within the OSCE is to be discussed at the Kyiv Ministerial. Preliminary results of the “Helsinki Plus 40” process, aimed at creation of a “security community” in the OSCE area, and adoption of a relevant ministerial declaration will be the key issues of the discussion.

A number of other important documents are to be adopted at the Ministerial Council, including decisions on combating trafficking in human beings, on transnational challenges and threats, and on protection of non-nuclear energy infrastructure from man-made and natural disasters.
