On the Festival of Belarusian Culture in Ventspils

On July 5-7, 2013 the international festival of Belarusian culture was held in Ventspils.

Mr.Alexander Gerasimenko, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Latvia, took part in the opening ceremony. In his speech the Belarusian diplomat emphasized the importance of such activities in strengthening Belarus-Latvia cultural cooperation.

Delegations and creative groups from Ventspils’ twin-cities, Polotsk and Novopolotsk, as well as from Vitebsk and Minsk, Belarusian ensembles from Latvia participated in the festival. Within the event the trade exhibition of Belarusian craftsmen products was organized.

During the visit to Ventspils Mr.Alexander Gerasimenko held a meeting with the city leaders. During the meeting the parties discussed the issues of inter-regional cooperation, as well as prospects for the development of Belarus-Latvia interaction in transshipment of Belarusian products through the port of Ventspils.
