Meetings of the Commission of the Customs Union and the Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission Take Place in Moscow

On January 25 Moscow hosts 34th session of the Commission of the Customs Union and the 1st session of the Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission.

Belarusian delegation on the meetings is led by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus Sergei Roumas.

The participants of the Commission of the Customs Union session will discuss amendments to the Harmonized Commodity Description and Coding System of the Customs Union and adjustments to the rates of import customs duties of the Common Customs Tariff of the Customs Union. The agenda includes the review of the issues related to temporary licensing of pedigree agricultural cattle imports to the Republic of Belarus, exemption of goods from customs duties in relation to the 2014 Olympic Games in Sochi.

The Sides will discuss a number of cooperation issues in the spheres of transports and taxation.

The meeting of the Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) will be dedicated to coordination of issues related to the termination of the Commission of the Customs Union activities and launching of the Eurasian Economic Commission. The Agreement to create the EEC was signed by the Presidents of Belarus, Kazakhstan and Russia on November 18, 2011.

The participants will also discuss measures to reorganize EurAsEC, review the proposals on the Chairman of the EEC Council, on the structure of the EEC Departments, on the qualifying requirements for the employees of the departments, competitive procedures for hiring to the Eurasian Economic Commission.
