On Belarus-Estonia Consultations between Ministries of Foreign Affairs

On January 15, 2014 the regular round of consultations between Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus and Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Estonia took place in Estonia.

The Belarusian delegation was headed by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ms.Alena Kupchyna, the Estonian – by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Kyllike Sillaste-Elling.

Within the consultations the parties discussed the issues of bilateral relations, including political dialogue, trade, economic and humanitarian cooperation, confirmed mutual interest in the development of the legal framework. The sides exchanged views on the prospects of Belarus-EU relations development, including in the region of North Europe. The Estonian party was informed on the integration processes within the Customs Union and Single Economic Space.

Ms.Alena Kupchyna had meetings in the Parliament of Estonia with the Vice-Speaker Mr.Jüri Ratas and the Chairman of the Permanent Committee on International Affairs Mr.Marko Mihkelson. Within the meeting the sides discussed interparliamentary interaction, as well as the development of Belarus-Estonia political dialogue.

The Belarusian delegation visited the Estonian center “Eastern Partnership” where the educational seminars and scientific research on “Eastern Partnership” project are held.
