On the Meeting of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus Mr.Vladimir Makei with the Delegation of the French National Assembly

On December 3, 2013 Foreign Minister of the Republic of Belarus Mr.Vladimir Makei met with the delegation of the France-Belarus Friendship Group from the National Assembly of France, headed by the Group’s Chairman Mr.Gerald Darmanin, in Minsk.

During the meeting the sides considered the prospects for interaction enhancement between Belarus and France in the spheres of mutual interest, taking into account the possibilities of parliamentary diplomacy.

Special attention was paid to the development of the constructive dialogue between the Republic of Belarus and the Council of Europe, the European Union, including the issue of Belarus’s participation in the Eastern Partnership, in particular, considering the results of the Vilnius Summit.

The French parliamentarians are on a visit to Belarus on December 2-6, 2013, upon the invitation of Mr.Vladimir Senko, Chairman of the Permanent Committee of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus for Foreign Affairs and National Security, Head of the working group on cooperation with the Parliament of the French Republic.
