Belarusian Delegation Takes Part in the UNESCO General Conference

From October 25 to November 10, 2011, the 36th session of the UNESCO General Conference will take place at the UNESCO headquarters in Paris.

The Belarusian delegation led by Vladimir Schastny, the Ambassador-at-Large, Chairman of the National Commission of Belarus for the UNESCO, will participate in the session.

The participants of the session will approve the program of work and the budget of the organization for 2012-2013 for each of the major programs — education, natural sciences, social science and humanities, culture and communication. They will also consider the draft of the program and budget for 2014-2015.

The program of work of the Belarusian delegation includes meetings with the UNESCO top management, consultations with the heads of national delegations on educational and cultural projects, common activities to preserve the common cultural heritage, and other issues which are of interest for our country.
