Diplomatic relations established between Belarus and Andorra

On September 27 Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus Sergei Martynov and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Principality of Andorra Gilbert Saboya Sunyé have signed a Joint Communiqué on the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations Between Belarus and Andorra. The signing ceremony took place in New York during a meeting of the two ministers within the current session of the UN General Assembly.

The Sides are “Desirous to promote and strengthen ties of friendship relations and cooperation between the two countries in the political, economic and cultural fields, on the basis of equality, mutual respect for each other’s independence and sovereignty, and non-interference into the internal affairs of each other” – reads the text of the document.

According to the existing practice, a copy of the Joint Communiqué was sent to the UN General Secretary to inform the member-states of the Organization about the establishment of the diplomatic relations between Belarus and Andorra.
