Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus M.Ryzhenkov meets President of Mozambique

On 18 July 2026, as part of his visit to Mozambique, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Maxim Ryzhenkov, met with the President of the Republic of Mozambique, Daniel Francisco Chapo.

The head of the foreign ministry conveyed a personal message from the President of the Republic of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, with an invitation to the Mozambican leader to pay an official visit to Belarus. Maxim Ryzhenkov informed Daniel Chapo of the high regard given by the Belarusian Head of State to the prospects of comprehensively stepping up bilateral cooperation.

The President of Mozambique gratefully accepted the invitation and instructed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation to commence preparations and content development for his visit.

The parties also discussed the current state of the Belarusian–Mozambican dialogue, with a focus on the following topics:

  • agricultural mechanisation as a pilot project to ensure Mozambique's food security;
     
  • assistance in strengthening security and combating terrorism;
     
  • full utilisation of Mozambique's logistical capabilities to ensure the supply of Belarusian goods to countries in the region;
     
  • strengthening Mozambique's industrial sovereignty;
     
  • implementation of a promising project for the production of blended fertilisers;
     
  • preparations for signing a package of bilateral documents aimed at intensifying inter-sectoral cooperation — from agriculture to education and healthcare.

The Mozambican Head of State designated officials from the Government of Mozambique responsible for engagement with Belarus.
