Belarus and Czech Republic to discuss energy cooperation

On April 18-19, 2012 Minsk will host the 5th Belarusian-Czech workshop for cooperation in energy. The workshop has been set up as part of the Belarus-Czech intergovernmental mixed commission for economic, industrial and sci-tech cooperation.

The Belarusian delegation will be led by Beltopgaz Director General Leonid Rudinsky, the Czech delegation will be led by Director of the Gas and Liquid Fuels Department of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Jan Zaplatilek.
 
The Belarusian delegation will comprise representatives of the Ministry of Energy, Belenergo SPA, Beltopgaz SPA, Belneftekhim Concern, Brestoblgaz UE, Mingaz UE and Beltransgaz JSC. Czech Republic will be represented by the Ministry of Industry and Trade and businesses (12 energy and trade companies).
 
The participants of the meeting will consider a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation in energy and gas industry including the construction of hydroelectric power plants, fuel and power stations in Belarus jointly with Czech companies, joint production of high-technology equipment for mini CHP plants running on local fuels. The sides will also discuss the expansion of cooperation in energy field including nuclear and peat industries, compressed natural gas transportation, other issues of mutual interest.
